FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Microblading: What is it?
Microblading is one of the hottest trends in the permanent makeup industry. Also called 3D brows, the modern process emerged to allow for the full reconstruction of eyebrows via the depositing on colored pigments under the skin using a manual tool.
Unlike other permanent makeup procedures, such as tattooing, which can create an unnatural, dense look, microblading involves drawing crisp hair strokes one by one. The microblading handheld tool contains 12 microneedles that are much thinner than the needles used for tattoos. The tool allows for extremely fine stokes, which blend into your existing brow hair and result in a natural look.
Once the site of microblading has healed, 3D brows are extremely low maintenance. In contrast to eyebrow extensions, which require regular reapplication, micro bladed eyebrows are hassle-free. You can wash your face, rub your brows and even engage in water sports and still have flawless-looking eyebrows. Every morning you can wake up with perfect eyebrows!
Microblading: Who is it suitable for?
Anyone can avail of microblading procedures and they are perfect for those who want to fully reconstruct, hide gaps, define, or reshape their natural eyebrows. You can choose to have your brows bold and arched, straight, feathered or any other type of style that appeals to you. Many people don’t realize what an important facial feature eyebrows are. During your microblading appointment, your brows will be shaped and styled to your exact specifications.
Microblading: How long does it take?
The entire treatment process for two eyebrows takes around 2 hours. The first stage involves taking facial measurements and drawing on your desired eyebrow shapes using a removable marker. This stage is perhaps the most important for ensuring that your new eyebrows match your face shape. Once the shape of the brows is defined, each stroke will be meticulously drawn onto your face to create your desired look. Note that before the microblading itself starts, a numbing cream will be applied to make the treatment as least painful as possible.
It will take up to two weeks for the eyebrow area to heal and around one month for the color to fully settle. At the six week mark, a touch-up session might be necessary, as everyone’s skin heals differently, so outcomes can vary.
How long does it last?
Microblading lasts on average between one and three years depending on the type of skin you have and your skincare routine. A touch up is recommended every 12 months to maintain the fresh brow look.
